Retreat Focus

As women, our lives are full of demands and expectations. We balance the needs of others and try to keep up with the hunger within our spirits for wholeness, meaning, and purpose. This retreat will invite women to explore the deep places where God calls us to rest in love, to listen, and to find the focus and clarity God’s love provides as we live into the demands that wait outside of the sacred rest of retreat. The fall retreat will invite women to imagine what it means to experience more fully the abundance of God’s love and to know themselves as God’s beloved. Employing scripture, contemplative traditions, group discussion, and spiritual practices, women will be invited to come closer to the divine presence that dwells in all of life and in each of our hearts.

Our Spiritual Leaders
Gail Watkins and Nancy Enderle

Gail and Nancy met while studying at the Living School, a program of the Center for Action and Contemplation in Albuquerque, NM, founded by Father Richard Rohr. They both bring to this retreat a hunger to explore the sacred journey of deepening God’s life-giving presence through contemplation. As individuals, their professional paths include Gail’s work as a corporate lawyer with vast international experience and industry leadership. Nancy has served as a Presbyterian Pastor in a variety of ministry settings for over 30 years, and also served in non-profit ministries. Each of them has led retreats for spiritual seekers, worked with women’s ministries, written curriculum, and taught classes in churches and groups across the country. Their hopes for this retreat are to create a gracious, open space for women to gather and explore their relationship to God, their sense of who they are and where they discover their purpose and meaning, and to seek how together, they can be a community of support, challenge, and Christian engagement with the world.
