The Hunger Ministry of CSMSG

Welcome! Located in St. Louis, in the close-in suburb of Clayton, we are a parish made alive in Christ and celebrating this life through the Anglican liturgy and sacraments with vibrant preaching and teaching, and beautiful, traditional music. Ours is a welcoming community and we're extremely family-friendly.

The parish family is a lively mix of lifelong Episcopalians and members raised in a number of other denominations and religious traditions. We hope that if you haven't done so already, you'll join us soon!

Meetings: Third Saturday of each month in the Taylor Room and kitchen of The Church of St. Michael & St. George. Committee meets at 9:30 am. Sandwich makers meet at 10:00 am.

Number of People served annually by this ministry: 22,920

Hunger Ministry volunteers meet once each month at the church to make sandwiches and casseroles to be distributed to the hungry. Casseroles are also prepared in parishioners’ homes. There’s an ever-growing need for the Hunger Ministry and a matching need for more and more volunteers. Will you help us?

Food is distributed to more than 20,000 hungry people each year through a number of area food pantries. Funds for the Hunger Ministry and its work are generated by the $oup Sale in February and the always-popular Trivia Night held during the Spring, as well as two ingathering efforts each year.

CASSEROLES 'R' US

Did you know that one casserole feeds a family of four for two days? Pick up your casserole pan and lid near the receptionist's desk at the church, make the casserole and return it to the church freezer. This need is increasing every day. Put a group together and come to church and assemble the casseroles or have a cooking party. Below is a selection of casserole recipes that can be used or you may have favorite of your own to make. All are appreciated. Call Allison Wiedle at 314.427.2317 or email at arwiedle@sbcglobal.net, or Peggy Strelinger at 314.721.1502 if you have any questions. The casseroles are delivered to local food pantries where they are distributed to families in need.
