The Choir of the Church of St. Michael & St. George
"Direct us, O Lord, in all our doings with thy most gracious favor, and further us with thy continual help; that in all our works begun, continued, and ended in thee, we may glorify thy holy Name, and finally, by thy mercy, obtain everlasting life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen"
- The Book of Common PrayerThe Choir of the Church of St. Michael & St. George is the principal musical resource of the parish and sings the services of the Holy Eucharist, Morning Prayer and Evensong, as well as special seasonal services. The professional choir is completely auditioned and members are expected to make a significant commitment of time to the choir. The choir is comprised of students from Washington University, Webster University, and other educational institutions and professionals from two states in the greater St. Louis area. The choir sings Psalms (to both plainsong and Anglican Chant), settings of the Mass Ordinary, canticles, and anthems and motets drawn from all periods of music history while placing an emphasis on the music from our own rich Anglican heritage.
Anyone interested in auditioning for the choir should contact the choirmaster, Robert Lehman, at 314.721.1502 or at rwlehman@csmsg.org.
