Other ways to give

Another way to make a pledge is to give appreciated securities (such as stock) to The Church of St. Michael & St. George. Giving in this way helps sustain the parish and provides some practical advantages to the giver:

The donor gets a tax deduction for the asset's full present market value.

The donor does not pay capital gains tax on the asset's appreciated worth (the difference between the cost basis and the asset's fair market value at the time of the gift).
