Sacraments

Welcome! Located in St. Louis, in the close-in suburb of Clayton, we are a parish made alive in Christ and celebrating this life through the Anglican liturgy and sacraments with vibrant preaching and teaching, and beautiful, traditional music. Ours is a welcoming community and we're extremely family-friendly.

The parish family is a lively mix of lifelong Episcopalians and members raised in a number of other denominations and religious traditions. We hope that if you haven't done so already, you'll join us soon!

BAPTISM

Baptism for infants, children and adults takes place at The Church of St. Michael & St. George by appointment.

For more information or to schedule a baptism, contact Marlene at marlene@csmsg.org or 314.721.1502 #4017

CONFIRMATION

Confirmation classes for adults and adolescents are held each year to prepare the participants for communion. Classes are followed by confirmation by the Bishop. If you've been confirmed elsewhere, you should know that we recognize confirmation from most other denominations.

Please contact the Reverend Jedediah Fox at jfox@csmsg.org for more information, or to enroll in a confirmation class.

HOLY COMMUNION

Holy Eucharist is the liturgy used for most Sunday services and for many services held throughout the week.  The liturgy of Holy Eucharist, or Communion, contains two parts. The Liturgy of the Word includes readings, the sermon, prayers, confession and forgiveness of sins. Holy Communion includes thanksgiving for Jesus's sacrifice for us (a symbolic remembrance of it) and the sending forth of the congregation into the world to do God's work.  The Holy Communion is at the heart of our worship.

Your Invitation to Communion

At The Church of St. Michael & St. George, all baptized Christians are invited to receive communion–to be nourished by this outward and visible sign of something that is inward and spiritual. It brings together the entire congregation to share in a ritual rooted in the biblical account of Jesus's last meal with his disciples. By participation in this act we share the hope that we shall both know and do the work of Christ.

MARRIAGE

"The union of husband and wife in heart, body and mind is intended by God for their mutual joy; for the help and comfort given one another in prosperity and adversity; and when it is God's will for the procreation of children and their nurture in the knowledge and love of the Lord."

The sacrament of marriage at The Church of St. Michael & St. George comes in many sizes and styles, but every wedding is beautiful and every one is a blessing.

If you desire more information on weddings, please contact alice@csmsg.org.

HEALING EUCHARIST

A Healing Eucharist is celebrated each Wednesday at 5:30 pm in St. Mary’s Chapel. This moving Eucharist includes the opportunity for unction and the laying-on of hands.
