St. Michael School

At The St. Michael School, we believe we must allow each child to
develop a true passion for learning plus the creativity and
flexibility to embrace and initiate change. Rather than forcing the
child into a rigid mold, we partner with students and parents to
teach to the individual strengths of each child. Our low student-
teacher ratio and a full time learning consultant enable us to do
this on a daily basis. The St. Michael School provides rich
experiences and intense learning with a thorough grounding in the
fundamental skills - reading, writing and mathematics. Each child is
led to see the value of applying these skills to acquire and
articulate knowledge. The St. Michael School program attaches great
importance to spiritual and physical well being as well as community
service and sustainability. Every school day begins in the chapel,
where children of all faiths are challenged to consider how they
positively affect the lives of others. Each day beginning in
preschool includes active play and a planned program of physical
activity, focused on health and overall fitness, rather than
competition. The study of Spanish is part of the daily curriculum.
The St. Michael School, an Episcopal School for children of all
faiths, is located in Clayton.
