2019 Holy Week Preacher
The Rt. Rev. Graham James was the youngest bishop in the Church of England when he was consecrated in February 1993. More recently, he was the longest-serving bishop in the Church of England, retiring after more than 26 years. He studied at the University of Lancaster before going to Oxford for his theological training. In 1987, Bishop Graham was appointed as Chaplain to the Archbishop of Canterbury. Bishop Graham became a member of the House of Lords in 2004 and has been very involved in issues related to media and communications, including serving on the Communications Select Committee in Parliament. He has been the Church of England spokesman on media issues and a frequent broadcaster and presenter of BBC Radio 4’s “Thought for the Day”.
