On Monday, August 10, the Schoenstein & Co. pipe organ arrived at The Church of St. Michael & St. George, and installation is now underway.
Walk into the Main Church this week and you’ll see something you don’t see every day: the organ, still in pieces, laid out across the pews. Wind chests, casework, wrapped pipework and tubing stretch down the length of the nave — the whole instrument, waiting to be assembled. After years of planning and the generosity of this parish, it’s a striking thing to finally see in person.
A Note on Access
Because the components fill the Main Church during this phase of the work, and St. George’s Chapel is being used as secure storage for tools and equipment, both spaces are unavailable — with one exception: the Main Church will remain open for the 8 AM and 10 AM Sunday services. Outside of those two services, please plan to worship in the Taylor Room while installation is underway.

What Comes Next
Schoenstein & Co.’s team will spend the coming weeks assembling the instrument piece by piece. We’ll keep sharing updates here as it comes together.
