Worship is the heart of life at The Church of St. Michael & St. George. Rooted in the Anglican tradition, our services are marked by beauty, order, reverence, and deep theological reflection. We use the Rite I liturgy, whose language is poetic and rich, drawing us into a sense of the sacred and placing us within the great tradition of the Church.

Our Sunday mornings begin with two services in the Main Church: an 8:00 AM celebration of Holy Eucharist and a 10:00 AM Choral Eucharist. The 8:00 AM service is quiet and contemplative, accompanied by organ and congregational hymns. At 10:00 AM, worship is supported by our nationally recognized choir and deeply rooted in the Anglican choral tradition. The choir leads the congregation in worship through psalms, anthems, and service music drawn from The Hymnal 1982. The organ is not simply accompaniment, but a living part of the liturgy — the breath and voice of our worship.

Our preaching is theological and reflective, engaging both heart and mind, and grounded in Scripture and tradition. The tone of the liturgy is formal but always welcoming. Holy Communion is offered at all Sunday morning services to all baptized Christians. Those who wish to receive a blessing are encouraged to come forward, kneel, and cross their arms across their chest.

A simpler spoken service is offered at 5:00 PM on Sundays in St. George’s Chapel. On select Sundays, Choral Evensong is offered in the Anglican tradition, often with incense, followed by a brief Eucharist in the sanctuary for those who wish to receive.

The worship life of CSMSG is also shaped by our liturgical calendar. Each year includes a full observance of Holy Week, Advent Lessons & Carols, and other seasonal liturgies that highlight the beauty of our building and the strength of our choir.

Children and youth are deeply integrated into the rhythm of Sunday mornings. At 9:00 AM, Sunday School offerings begin for all ages, alongside adult formation classes. During the 10:00 AM service, Children’s Ministry of the Word and nursery care are available, providing age-appropriate ways for younger members to engage the story of God.

Whether you are seeking the beauty of ancient liturgy, the depth of sacred music, or a community that takes worship seriously, you are warmly invited to join us.
