Matt Aplington
Carl Eichenberger
Stephen Eisele
Stephen Eisele has been a member of CSMSG since 2017 and was received into the Episcopal Church from the Southern Baptist Church in 2009. He is currently serving in his second year on the Vestry and regularly attends the 10 am service with his husband, Ian Mackey. He leads the Public Engagement Team within the Public Affairs Practice Group at FleishmanHillard, where he also co-leads the personal and professional development program and sits on the Extended Leadership Team for the St. Louis and Minneapolis offices.
Andrew Friend
Andrew Friend has been attending CSMSG since 2022 and was received into The Episcopal Church after attending Adult Confirmation in 2023. Over the last three years, he has maintained active involvement in several church ministries, including the St. Paul Guild of Readers & Chalice Bearers, The Brotherhood of St. Andrew, Our Community Listens, Young Adult ministry, and small group meetups. After growing up in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, Andrew moved to the St. Louis area in 2019, where he and his wife now live with their two cats and black lab. In his free time, he enjoys pinball, competing in various marksmanship matches, playing guitar, and making sourdough bread.
Lucas Gredell
Lucas Gredell has been a member of CSMSG since 2012. He moved to St. Louis for graduate school after having been raised in Northern California in the Southern Baptist church. Over the past 13 year, Lucas has served on the Vestry, ushered, and was a member of the St. Paul’s Guild. He is married to Hillary Gredell, and they have three children, Emily, 4, Luke, 3, and James, 9 months. He works as a middle-market banker at Wells Fargo covering Missouri and Southern Illinois.
Ian Hageman
Ian Hagemann has been a member of CSMSG since 2011 and was confirmed in 2013. He has been active in the Children’s and Youth Ministry, most recently teaching 6th/7th-grade Sunday School. He has served as Stewardship Chair and as Clerk of the Vestry. On selected Sundays, you may see him ushering or manning the video desk. On weekdays, he is a professor of pathology and assistant dean at Washington University School of Medicine.
Harrison Hagan Heil
Harrison Hagan Heil is a lifelong Episcopalian who has attended CSMSG since she and her family moved to St. Louis in 2004. Over the years, Harrison has taught Sunday School; chaired the Youth Ministry Leadership Team, created Middle School Mission Week with Linda McCoy; and served on the Vestry. She currently co-chairs the Ministry of Racial Reconciliation with Harry Moppins and represents CSMSG within the Diocese as Delegate to Convention and Co-convener of the Dismantling Racism Commission. Harrison holds a Master’s of Public Administration and has developed policy and procedures throughout her career in higher education administration.
Jim Holbrook
Jim Holbrook has been a long-time corporate executive and a member of the church since 1984. He is married to Meredith, and their three grown children were baptized and confirmed at CSMSG. Jim has served on the vestry twice (once as senior warden), the finance committee, St Michael’s Houses, and on the Rector search committee.
Tom Horlacher
Tom Horlacher was married at CSMSG in 1986 and has been a member since 1988. A lifetime Christian, Tom grew up in the United Methodist Church with much involvement there, thanks to his faithful parents. He has been involved in many activities at CSMSG, including teaching Sunday School for at least 10 years, serving many different Faith in Action ministries, attending Men’s Bible Study, and Ushering. You will find him weekly at the 8:00 service. While continuing to work as a management consultant, his time is becoming consumed with bridge, tennis, and golf. Tom is married to Janet and is the parent of 2 adult children.
Jefferson Miller
Jeff Miller was baptized, confirmed, and married in our church. He served the vestry. He enjoyed a long career in marketing communications as a writer, producer, and creative director. He has three children, two grandchildren, and is greatly blessed to be married to Abby Castle.
Harry Moppins
David Ott
David had lived his whole life in St Louis, outside of four years while attending Franklin and Marshall College in Pennsylvania. He co-founded Acropolis Investment Management, which now manages approximately $3 billion for private clients. He started attending CSMSG in the late 1990s, has been on the Vestry, Finance Committee, and is the current Treasurer. His kids attended what we now call St Michael’s Episcopal Day School.
Sam Panke
Born and raised in St. Louis, Sam is a third-generation parishioner at CSMSG. Growing up, he attended Sunday school, went through confirmation, was married at the church to his wife, Libby Panke, and the two of them became parishioners again after moving back to St. Louis from Atlanta in 2018. Sam currently serves as an usher at CSMSG. Outside of the church, Sam is a Managing Director at LongWater Capital Solutions. He and his wife, Libby, live in University City and have two sons, Charlie and Beau, with a third son on the way.
Nancy Reynolds
Nancy Y. Reynolds is on the History faculty at Washington University in St. Louis. Lifelong Episcopalians, Nancy and her husband, Dwyer Brown, moved into the neighborhood of the church in 2005 and have been members of CSMSG ever since. Nancy taught Sunday school when her sons were younger, served on the strategic planning committee in 2019-2020, and on the vestry in 2022-2024.
Cathy Sanders
I have been attending the CSMSG for nearly 50 years, joining with my family in the mid-1970s. My husband, Don, and I were married at the CSMSG in 1984, and our eldest son was baptized in the church in 1987. Over the years, I have actively served in various capacities, including on the Little Lambs Nursery committee from 1987 through 1990 and as a Sunday school co-teacher. Our three sons, Trey, Parker, and Dillon, attended Sunday school at the CSMSG and were all confirmed at the church. Later, all three of our sons served as Sunday school assistants until they graduated from high school. Don and I also enjoyed our time serving as ushers for the 8 AM service, deepening our connection with the church community.
Patience Schock
Patience Schock currently serves on the Altar Guild and the Garden Ministry. She has served on the Vestry, on the Women’s Retreat committee, on the last strategic planning committee, as a Sunday school teacher, a Youth Group volunteer, on the Flower Committee, and as an SMS parent and auction chair. She assisted the Rector in his search for several staff members over the years. She is a retired search consultant. She has
been a church member since 1963.
Joseph Sheehan
Joe Sheehan joined the Church of St. Michael and St. George with his wife in 1983 when they moved from Boston to St. Louis. Joe worked in a family business until joining Moneta Group as a partner in 1991. Joe and Caroline have twin boys who were raised in our church. He has served on the church school board, as a church schoolteacher, and as a board member of St. Michael’s School, and he has been the senior warden of CSMSG.
Daniel Smith
Daniel Smith has attended CSMSG with his family since August 2012, and he has been glad to serve as a Vestry member, Confirmation teacher, and Softball team co-captain. He also teaches New Testament and Greek at SLU, where he has served as Chair of the Department of Theological Studies since 2020.
Will Springer
Will was born and raised in St. Louis and began attending CSMSG at 7 years old, earning his Silver Cross as an acolyte during high school. He left for college in 2000 and returned in 2015, rejoining the congregation with his family. He currently serves as an usher and was on the vestry from 2022 to 2024.
James Stephenson
Member of CSMSG for 38 years. Raised two sons, both of whom were active in the church and served as Acolytes. Both my wife, Julie (who passed away 10/23), and I served on the Vestry. I am currently the head of our Ushering Ministry and St. Michael’s Houses Ministry.
Sonya York
Sonya York is the Business Manager at The Church of St. Michael & St. George and recently celebrated her fifth year on staff. She originally joined CSMSG as part of the 2019 strategic plan and has spent the past several years working toward the successful completion of that vision. Sonya is excited to help shape the next phase of planning and continue building on that foundation. She lives in South County with her husband, Mike, and her son, Eli.
