Donate to the Organ Campaign
Dear parishioners,
In May 2024, CSMSG’s Vestry approved a fundraising initiative for a new chancel organ from Schoenstein & Co. of Benicia, California. CSMSG is known for its steadfast commitment to traditional liturgy and music. A new organ will beautify our worship, support our singing, and ensure the future of our traditions. Parish leaders believe the time to replace the organ is now, and we need your generosity to make it happen. Future progress to the campaign will be held here via blog updates below. For information on how to donate to the organ campaign, contact Alexis Posnanski at aposnanski@csmsg.org.

Director of Music Joseph Arndt, along with Heather Martin-Cooper and Alexis Posnanski, recently had the privilege of visiting Schoenstein & Co. for a firsthand look at our new pipe organ as it takes shape. Based in Benicia, California, Schoenstein & Co. is the oldest and largest organ builder in the western United States, with six…
Schoenstein & Co. have been hard at work building our organ. We are so happy to share these pictures of the progress made on the construction of the instrument. Chests are in place, windlines fabricated, shade walls built and assembled, and pipes racked. This week, they started the rather large task of running all of…
There is a particular kind of faith required of a building project: the willingness to sit with disruption, to worship amid scaffolding and sawdust, and to trust that what is being made ready is worth the wait. We are so grateful that this congregation has shown that faith in abundance throughout this project. We carry…
Dear Parishioners, Another phase of construction for the Organ Project began on April 13. Work is now underway on the chancel (choir area) floor, which will have temporary effects on Sunday worship beginning April 19 and continuing through the coming weeks, as construction progresses through additional phases. Beginning April 19, the Holy Eucharist on…
Organ Project Update We are grateful to share continued progress on the organ project and the important work happening behind the scenes to prepare our space. Since the removal of the old organ pipes, several key steps have been completed. During that process, we were able to identify and address previously unseen leaks, ensuring the…
A Matching Gift Opportunity for Our New Organ A longtime parish family has graciously offered a matching gift challenge to help complete our new organ project. Every new gift – and every increase to an existing commitment – will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $500,000, through May 1. With $3 million already raised…
As we move forward with the installation of our new organ, we are now in the site preparation phase of the project. This initial phase includes building work necessary to ready the church for the arrival of the new instrument and represents $500,000 of the overall $3.8 million Organ Project fundraising goal. We are…
Organ Project Update: Upcoming Facilities Work As we prepare for the installation of our new Schoenstein organ, we are entering the first phase of physical work inside the church. This stage focuses on readying the organ chambers and High Altar area so the new instrument can be installed on schedule. What’s Ahead Beginning December 26, 2025, and continuing through…
Recently, our curators removed the internal pipes and mechanisms from the previous instrument’s antiphonal division. Our new organ will incorporate the existing antiphonal facade (cabinetry, display pipes, golf leaf) with two new stops.
We are delighted to share an early sketch from Schoenstein & Co., builders of our new organ. This design offers a glimpse of the beauty and craftsmanship that will soon enrich our worship and music ministry here at CSMSG. Stay tuned for more updates as this exciting project unfolds!
